"Will these belts crack?"
This is the number 1 question that I am asked when I do arts and crafts shows.
People who buy mass produced belts at the "big box stores" find that 3 months to one year after purchase the belts start falling apart, usually at the holes. When this happens, cardboard starts coming out of the holes. Sound familiar? This is because the makers of these belts put cardboard and other fillers in them so that they can save some money when they fabricate their products.
Our English Bridle Belts are created from one 10 - 11 ounce strip of genuine leather. We do not put any fillers, glues, cardboard or any other junk in our belts because these modifications destroy the assets of a high quality piece of leather, but then again, mass producers do not work with quality leather. A belt that is made from English Bridle leather takes about one year to break in. Yes, that's right, one full year for breaking it in. Since this leather is so flexible the belt feels quite comfortable when you first wear it, but it really does soften with age.
Our Soft Fashion Belts are built from four layers of our sensationally soft deer tanned cowhide which is used to build both these belts and our handbags as well. These belts are the perfect compliment to our English Bridle Belts because they are the finest dress belts we can build. Of course the Soft Fashion Belts are sewn together but there is nothing in these belts except leather. No fillers. No cardboard. No other adulterations. They are, quite simply, the softest, finest dress belts available.
